An innovative framework for future-oriented projects The Theory U, developed by Otto Scharmer, is a powerful framework for project development that enables individuals and organizations to overcome challenges and bring about transformative change. Core elements of the U theory: • Listening to yourself and the environment involved, conducting interviews in which we find out what customers need from us, questioning previous truths and opening ourselves to new perspectives. • Letting go of old patterns and allowing new ideas to emerge with an eye on the future. • Teams prototype and implement innovative solutions to jointly shape the future they want to see. Benefits of the U-Theory for project development: • Deeper understanding of complex systems and stakeholder needs • Strengthening team alignment and dynamics • Developing more sustainable and impactful solutions • Increased adaptability in uncertain situations The U-Theory offers a flexible framework that can be adapted to different project sizes and contexts, making it suitable for both smaller initiatives and large-scale systemic transformations. This framework enables project leaders to navigate complexity, promote innovation and create meaningful, sustainable change in an increasingly interconnected world. Examples: In Argentina, I used the U-Theory to accompany a group of people who run their projects across the country using the U-approach. This ranges from social projects in education, justice and art to green business start-ups, consulting for agricultural SMEs and leadership development in public administration.

The practice of NVC helps to see the bigger picture and not stay within our limited personal perspective. (As we know our brain always brings us back to the same thinking, if we do not trigger it to do differently.) We train ourselves to live on the basis that our personal experience or thought might be only one of the possible ones. This way we can act more resilient and innovative in complex situations. This works on a personal level, group level andfor the whole company.
